In the Romanian town of Cluj-Napoca an Architecture Students Contest between Romanian students is held annually. In 2015 Teun was invited to as a member of the jury and as a lecturer during the Cluj Architecture Festival.
The Architecture Students’ association of Cluj University (Romania) invited Teun as a member of the jury for the annual Architecture Students Contest. The contest took place during the association’s annual Architecture festival (Zilele Arhitecturii), a cultural event designed to strengthen relationships between schools of architecture in Romania and abroad. The Zilele Arhitecturii promote the image of Cluj faculty and students to encourage collaboration with other Romanian Architecture faculties and Hungary (Budapest).
More than 120 students took part in the contest, named Concursul Anual al Studentilor Arhitecti C|A|S|A. Teun participated in the jury together with Leo van Broeck (principal of Bogdan van Broeck architects, Brussels), Petar Zaklanovic (KCAP Architects and Planners, Rotterdam), Bulgarian architect Eliza Yokina and Romanian architect Andrei Butusina. Teun delivered a lecture ‘Vacancy opportunities’ on transformation and adaptive reuse in the Netherlands for the visitors of the Architecture festival. The lecture was held in abandoned theatre in the city centre that was completely cleaned and refurbished by the architecture students themselves for temporary use during the festival.
