Grounded Urban Practices

The study of Grounded Urban Practices (GUPs) in Cairo and Amsterdam+Rotterdam was initiated by Non-Fiction (NL) and Cluster (Egypt). The project focuses on two destabilizing moments in recent history, the 2008 financial crisis in Europe and the 2011 Egyptian revolution.

Stadmaker Robbert de Vrieze werd in 2018 dubbel onderscheiden. Hij won de Job Duraprijs met het Stadslab Luchtkwaliteit en ontving de Van der Leeuwprijs op het Stadmakerscongres. De Vrieze: “Rotterdam heeft een diverse en jonge bevolking die nu moet opstaan om voor echte vernieuwing te zorgen.”
